In-plane strain test provides:

Plastic Anisostropy of 304SS

Effects of anisotropy on the material deformation are determined in tension tests, which are repeated in different directions relative to the rolling direction.

 

The digital image correlation technique has been used to measure the width strain.An optical strain measurement system (ARAMIS®) takes pictures of the tensile specimens area with a fixed time step using CCD camera. The changes in width are measured during the test.
